30 Years Ago Today – Challenger Disaster

It's amazing how certain events in your life are engraved in your memory. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was working at a local radio station here in Rochester. There were a few of us gathered in the small news studio watching the launch. I remember seeing the astronauts walking to the capsule.

I still remember our news director at the time, Carl Cunningham, saying, "Oh my God, what a tragedy, just a tragedy. This is going to be an historic moment."
