Are you from the east coast? Take notes! Let me be your personal tour guide and help you feel at home while you're in Rochester!

If you don't know already, my name is Val and I'm originally from Pittsburgh. Yep, the city famous for football and a large population of Italian-Americans... of which I am one. I'm the third generation for my family. I'm mentioning this because if you're from that part of the country, you know living there is certainly a lifestyle - and ethnic background does have influence over what makes you comfortable. Sights, sounds, smells... all of it!

I've lived in Rochester since July of 2016.

Because of my background, I think it's safe for me to suggest some places in Rochester that can make anyone from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic parts of the country feel "at home" while they're here.

Here are a few places that make my east coast heart happy in Rochester. Try them!

  1. Pasquale's Pizza: This man prides himself on making authentic New York style pizza, and I have to say he hits the nail on the head with each pie! It's right on the edge of Downtown.
  2. Victoria's Ristorante & Wine Bar: Stop here in the summer for sure. You can get a great Italian meal outdoors just like in NYC! This restaurant is in the heart of Downtown.
  3. Nupa Mediterranian Cuisine: They've got a few locations in Rochester, and they're awesome for a quick meal in a hurry.
  4. The Redwood Room: Remember those piano bars in New Jersey and NYC that Billy Joel sang about? You'll get those vibes here when live music is happening. They're also Downtown.

Do any of these sound cool to you?
