St. Patrick's Day is coming up Friday; are you ready for it? Here are the four things you can do to get in the spirit of the holiday.

Seeing as I'm not Irish (that I know of, anyway-- I believe I'm mainly German, English and Swedish), I'm not going to let that stand in the way of enjoying me some St. Patrick's Day fun... because, as the saying goes, Everyone's Irish On St. Patrick's Day!

Here are the Four Things All Non-Irish Minnesotans Will Do For St. Patrick's Day

+ Wear green -- This one goes without saying, especially since I'm a Green Bay Packers fan-- I have a ton of green things to wear Friday.

+ Eat corned beef and cabbage -- While I'd had the traditional Irish meal previously (and thought it was alright), it wasn't until a few years ago we made some at home-- and it was really good! We roast the cabbage, though, instead of boiling it, which seems to make it much more palatable.

Drink some green beer - This one really only applies if you're heading out to a local establishment, unless you want to grab some food coloring and make your own, of course. We will sometimes substitute with some Guiness Nitro IPA, which is also an authentically Irish brew.

Recite/Read an Irish proverb  - I love reading some authentic Irish proverbs on St. Patrick's Day. One of my favorites is, "Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold pint and another one!"

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
