Drinking a pint of beer or glass of wine a day could ward off dementia.

The study even found that if you drink a glass a day you’ll have a better memory than people who claim not to drink at all. You'll have a bigger hippocampus – the area of the brain that controls memory.

Researchers discovered that people who drink between 8 and 14 alcoholic drinks a week were 37 percent less likely to develop the dementia, but be careful – the risk doubled for people who drank more than that amount.
