Minnesota isn't just the land of lakes... it's the land of layers!

We never know quite where the weather will turn from day to day, so my closet has expanded into pieces that are easily transferable over the other. Ever felt like you don't have enough clothing to do this? I have!

Here's a secret I learned... basic pieces are your holy grail. A simple black t-shirt can be worn a number of ways. That's why I sewed one at Kelley's Quality Sewing this week! I decided to take a class and learn how to give myself more of the "basic" options so that I can layer colorfully! Check out my process!

Make Your Own T-Shirt

I ended up pairing that t-shirt with another collared one I already had to create a new look! How cool is that?

This fall and winter, I'm sure I'll be doing more layering. It helps to have solid colors and collared tops or jackets to do this with. Then you're not bored wearing the same "look" every week, and you're warm! It's a win-win.

Without further delay, check out my outfits I rocked this week. Which one was your favorite?

Would you take a class to give yourself more clothing options? I'm so glad I did! Try it out!
