Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Dangerously cold wind chills are forecast across the entire state of Minnesota into Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service has posted a Wind Chill Advisory from 9 PM through 9 AM, which is the period of time the "feels like" readings could reach the 30 below range in southeastern Minnesota. Forecasters are predicting the actual air temperature will dip to -10 or colder in the Rochester area by Thursday morning.

The bitter cold will be followed by a snowstorm that's predicted to arrive on Friday. A winter storm watch has been posted from noon Friday through noon Saturday, and the latest forecast from the National Weather Service puts Rochester and an area that could see 6-8 inches of snow from the storm. Just a little to the north, in a band running between Rochester in the Twin Cities from Redwood Falls into Western Wisconsin, the forecast models predict 8-12 inches of snow.
