It was more than a year ago since the Metrodome was demolished in Minneapolis. But even today, those iconic blue seats are finding new homes here in Minnesota -- and across the country.

BringMeTheNews.com has an interesting story that has tracked those classic blue seats to locations as far away as Oregon. The seats, though, weren't the only thing from the Metrodome that found a new home. If you remember, when demolition on the Metrodome started, parts of the turf were resold to the Mayo High School Booster Club.

But back to the seats. The story says about 20,000 of the 65,000 blue seats were sold, and have been showing up in several different places, mainly here in Minnesota. Except for about 240 of them, that is, which are now residing at a sports field in Newport, Oregon.

According to the story, "How they got to Oregon is an unlikely story, which MinnPost detailed earlier this month. There were some bumps along the way, like raising enough money to pay for the seats, finding a way to pick them up from the Metrodome and haul them to the West Coast, and, with no instructions, figuring out how to install them at the fields."
