A group of California firefighters were honored by a total stranger’s random act of kindness while they were getting groceries from Costco.

An Air Force veteran’s wife saw the firefighters at the store on Memorial Day weekend, but they got an emergency call when they got up to the register to pay.

They ended up leaving their cart inside the store, but when they came back later they found that the woman had already paid $123 for the groceries .

She left a note on the receipt that said, “Thank you firefighters for all you do — have a good weekend.”

She didn’t leave her name, but the firefighters posted their thanks on Facebook and paid it forward by buying flowers for an older couple that they spotted at a local store.
