Again, I don't want to jinx things by proclaiming that we're out of the woods and that the weather has, indeed, warmed up for good, but there's another sure-fire sign it's, indeed, spring on the street right in front of our house:

A sure sign of Spring: our pot hole-filled street!

The pot hole! Well, to be more accurate, let's say pot holes-- because there are what appear to be a half-dozen holes in the asphalt in the road right at the end of our driveway.

That spot has been problematic ever since we moved in three years ago. For whatever reason, it's lower than the rest of the road, so water always ends up pooling right there after it rains. And thanks to the melting snow last week, it had been full of water for awhile now. Of course, all the water finally drained out a couple of days ago, leaving what appears to be around six separate, massive pot holes in the road.

A city crew came through the neighborhood last year and patched a few minor areas on our street, but for some reason, ignored this spot. It's only gotten worse with the spring freeze and thaw cycle. Hopefully, they'll be back to try to patch things up sometime soon.

I don't want to say those pot holes are deep, but neighborhood kids swim around in them during the summer! They're so deep, I've seen a train of mules taking tourists on a ride down to the bottom! Those pot holes are so massive, they have their own gift shop!
