Curt St. John

Hey, it's Curt St. John here, and I'm excited to join the Quick Country 96.5 staff! Growing up, being on the radio is all I ever dreamed of doing. And, after a stint that required me to wear a bear suit to be the mascot for an AM station that aired Chicago Cubs games in my hometown of Wausau, Wisconsin, I finally DID end up on the radio, working weekends and overnights while I earned a BA from UW-Eau Claire. I next worked several radio jobs in Eau Claire, including hosting a morning show for about 15 years. (That's a lot of getting up at 3:20 am!) After I met my beautiful wife, we got married (in Jamaica) and moved here to Rochester, where my wife was already working, in April of 2012. In my spare time, I like to get out on the mountain bike, catch ‘House Hunters’ on TV and work on our next batch of home-brewed beer. And, now that I'm here in Minnesota, I'm an avid Twins and Wild fan-- although I do confess to still rooting for certain MLB, NFL, and Big 10 teams that hail from a state just east of here. I'm excited to keep you company in the afternoon and play the most continuous country on your way home!

My Latest Food Addiction

I don't know about you, but when I find a new food item that I like -- whether it's a new flavor of coffee, a new beer, or whatever -- I tend to go nuts and eat a lot of whatever it is -- until another 'addiction' comes along. And right now, I'm doing everything in my power to not eat an entire jar of either Jif's Salted Caramel Hazelnut spread or Trader Joe's Cookie Butter.

If you've ever watched the show 'Rehab Addict' on HGTV, then you know the show's star, Nicole Curtis, lives, for at least part of the year, in Minneapolis. So passionate, in fact, that she's recently been involved in an online spat with the mayor of Minneapolis over the demolition of just such a property.

Reporter Slides Face-First into Snowman on Live TV

I remember one of my high school teachers back in Wisconsin telling me after I did less than my best on an exam, "Well, Curt, you can always serve as a BAD example..." Maybe that's what this reporter was thinking as she was doing this hard-hitting expose on how to sled down a hill, and ended up slamming right into a giant snowman.

Chris Farley’s ‘Matt Foley’ Endorses the University of Wisconsin

Seeing all those clips of past skits on the SNL 40th Anniversary special a few weeks ago got me thinking about how funny Chris Farley really was. His "Matt Foley: Motivational Speaker" skit is a classic! And, it turns out that Farley, a native of Madison, WI, also once appeared in character as Matt Foley to promote the Badgers of the University of Wisconsin
