One of the more popular recent Christmas songs is Band Aid's 'Do They Know It's Christmas?' which was recorded by a group of British pop groups and singers 30 years ago, back in November 1984. The proceeds of the song were used to fight the ongoing famine relief efforts in Ethiopia. I was 14 at the time, and I remember dutifully going out and buying a copy of the song (on a 45-- if you know what that means). Well, fast-forward 30 years, and a new group of British singers has gotten together to redo the song-- in the same studio the original group did-- but this time, it's to raise funds to help fight the Ebola virus in Africa...
