Pace cars. They play an important role in auto racing. They help keep drivers in line before the race starts and control speeds during caution laps. Plus, they're generally just pretty cool!

At a race back in 2009, however, the delivery of the vehicle to the track was more cool and exciting than the pace car itself. It may have been even better than the race!

At the November 2009 Dickie's 500 race at Texas Motor Speedway, the pace car, a 2010 Chevy Camaro, was brought to the track in perhaps the most unique way imaginable.

Yep, a CH-47 Chinook helicopter dropped the pace car off, right on the track! The helicopter team, that was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, made it look easy!

And speaking of pace cars, we're giving away a VIP racing experience at Deer Creek Speedway, complete with a ride in the pace car at the race. Register for it right here!
