If you happen to see a giant red ball wedged between a couple of buildings in downtown Rochester this summer, it's not because your eyes are deceiving you after spending a little too much time tipping a few back on Historic Third Street. (Although in my case, that might still be true.)

It's actually a public art exhibit, specifically called the RedBall Project, and according to a release from the Rochester Downtown Alliance, it'll make an appearance here in the Med City between June 6th through the 12th.

The project is the brainchild of New York artist Kurt Perschke. The release goes on say that, "The ball, which weighs 250 pounds, is approximately 15 feet tall. It'll be placed in even different strategically located sites throughout Rochester, hand selected by Perschke during his visit to Rochester in November 2014.  While these sites are currently a secret, they will be revealed in April 2015."

We're in pretty good company hosting the RedBall Project, as it has previously been featured in cities like Paris, Barcelona, Sydney, Toronto, and Chicago among others. Here's a glimpse of what it looks like: (Just envision it wedged behind the Dr. Will and Dr. Charlie statues on the Peace Plaza...)
