Governor Mark Dayton has declared a 'crisis' regarding the bird flu in Minnesota. So far, there have been 82 outbreaks affecting almost 5 1/2 million turkeys and chickens.

In a trickle-down affect, Jennie-O processing in Faribault has idled 233 workers because the turkeys are not there. At least 40 turkey and contract farms operated by Jennie-O have been hit by the outbreaks.

With that said, I was thinking, "What about the geese?" There are a lot of geese in Rochester that hang around Silver Lake and fly to various places. We haven't heard anything about them. Are they immune? Are they foaming at the beak? I don't know what the symptoms are, but I hope they don't spread the virus. What are your thoughts? - Alan
