Brede, Snyder, Throndson Move On

The incumbents in the three Rochester elective offices involved in yesterday’s primary have moved on to the general election- but two of them placed second in their respective races.

Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede crushed his two challengers by collecting more votes than their collective total.  Brede ended the night with a total of 4757.  Cindy Maves was second with 2473 and Stephanie Kilen had 1926.

Bruce Snyder placed second in his re-election bid for the 3rd ward city council seat with a total of 375 votes.  Nick Campion finished with 564 while Vickie Anderson was a distant 188.

There were four people vying for Terry Throndson’s seat on the School Board and Jean Marvin led the way with 3778.  Throndson had 3096.  In third was Nora Dooley at 1822 and Matthew Halleck finished last with 659.

The top two finishers will meet again in the November election.

Voter turnout in Olmsted County was put at 13.5% ( 11,440 votes ).
