Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  - A Byron man was sent to prison Wednesday for his role in a “home alone” burglary case earlier this year.

Sentenced to 34 months was 47-year-old Todd Bauer, who earlier entered an Alford plea to a 1st degree burglary charge. The plea means he does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is sufficient evidence to convict him.

Bauer and a friend were arrested in April after an 11-year-old boy, who was home alone, spotted the two trying to break into his family’s Byron house and called 911. Olmsted County deputies responded and found Bauer and 47-year-old Philip Bartlett hiding in a nearby garage. Bartlett was earlier sentenced to 3 years in prison.
