With 87 different counties here in Minnesota, our state features counties that are mostly rural, like Lyon and Redwood counties in western Minnesota, along with extremely remote northern counties like Koochiching and Lake, which both border Canada. Of course, there are also the seven counties that make up the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, along with counties like our own Olmsted, which have both urban and rural areas. So which county is Minnesota's richest?

MSN's Money page has a list of the richest counties in all 50 states, ranked by median income and how it compares to the state median income. They also looked at the percentage of households making $200,000 or more, along with the unemployment rate. You can check out which county comes in as Minnesota's richest HERE.

I have to say I was initially surprised at which county is our state's richest. However, the more I thought it through, I guess it makes sense. I only know (spoiler alert!) I don't live in Minnesota's richest county-- nor did I live in the richest county in Wisconsin, either. Oh well. What's the Powerball up to these days? That might be the only way I'll be able to afford a home in any of those counties...
