I'll admit it - you probably haven't "popped a collar" since the Laguna Beach gang did 2004, but when it comes to layers, it seems like it's okay to do it again in 2018.

The humidity was NUTS this week. At least for me. Despite this, I was fixated on updating the "look" of my t-shirts and overall outfit by using some collared tops in my wardrobe this week.

How can possibly feel like we're "out of clothing options" when the fashion industry is worth "72.13 billion U.S. dollars and are projected to increase to 116.3 billion U.S. dollars in 2021", you ask? My theory: we're getting MAJOR #styleinspo... constantly.

According to Statista, online retail is "expected to reach just over four trillion U.S. dollars in 2020." Most of that is online shopping via websites and apps, and Instagram. Those #ootd posts really do make us want to update our closets!

Back to my original question: was the humidity too much for updating a look with a collared top?

It wasn't. I did it twice this week. The trick is to use flowy/silky/comfortable tops to layer under t-shirts. Then, you're not getting overheated.

What do you think of my outfits from this week?
