Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The growing season officially ended in southeastern Minnesota early Saturday with the region's first hard freeze of the fall. 

The unofficial low at the Rochester Airport occurred around 4 a.m. when the mercury fell to 24-degrees which matched the temperature in International Falls at that time of the night. It was also the coldest reading at the Rochester Airport since March 28th when the morning low was 20-degrees.

The coldest low temperature in the region was in Mabel at only 19-degrees, which was one of the coldest readings in entire state. Preston reported a low of 20-degrees and it got down to 21-degrees in Kasson. Most other cities in southeastern Minnesota reported lows in the mid to upper 20's.

The National Weather is predicting much warmer weather by the end of the weekend and into next week. The high on Sunday is predicted to be around 60-degrees, while mid-70's are possible on Monday.
