Yesterday was the coldest day of the winter in southeast Minnesota. The National Weather Service says it got down to -21 below zero around 8am. It was so cold, I went out and bought an ice cream cone to eat, just to WARM UP!

The previous cold morning was on January 20th, when it hit -20 below. A new survey by Yogabed.com reveals that 50% of people spend an extra 3 hours per week in bed during the winter months. Other findings:

- 31% of people spend extra time on the couch during winter months.

- 43% of people treat themselves to homemade cookies during the winter months.

- 27% of people would stay in bed all day if they had more time to indulge.

- Saturday is the most indulgent day of the week.

- Favorite winter indulgences:

1. Sitting by the fire
2. Cuddling up with a hot chocolate
3. Lying around and reading a book
4. Staying home all day in pajamas
