The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild has been celebrating the many craft breweries in the state this week with an event called, '10,000 Minutes of Minnesota Craft Beer.' It's been highlighting the many tap-takeovers, samplings, tours and other events that highlight the unique beers that craft brewers create.

According to BringMeTheNews.com, the number of craft breweries has exploded here in Minnesota, with 127 craft breweries now located here in the North Star State. Keep in mind that only five years ago, back in 2011, that number was only 18!

Here in Rochester, the craft brewery scene has also exploded. Back in 2011, there were exactly zero breweries located here. Now, though, we have four great craft brewers who call the Med City home, and I've been to all four  --  Forager Brewing CompanyLTS Brewing CompanyKinney Creek Brewing Company, and Grand Rounds Brew Pub -- and really enjoy all the unique beers they brew.

In fact, earlier this year, my wife and I and a few friends took a cool trolley tour of all the Rochester craft breweries and had a great time. Being from Wisconsin, where beer is almost a way of life, it's cool to see these local breweries have success. I'm glad they're here!

The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild has a complete list of '10,000 Minutes of Beer' events that are taking place this weekend HERE.

Bottom's up!
