Who doesn't love them some Christmas lights? And, I have to say, downtown Rochester is looking pretty festive these days, all decked out with some great-looking holiday displays.

Have you seen this year's Christmas tree on the Plummer Building yet? I've been a big fan of the huge Christmas tree formed by various lights on the south windows of the Plummer Building ever since Mayo Clinic brought them back a few years ago during the sesquicentennial celebration. Even though that celebration ended in 2014, it's nice that Mayo brought the tree back again this year.

Here are some facts about the original tree, which appeared each holiday season on the Plummer Building from 1950 to 1956. The Post-Bulletin also published an article on the tree during its debut two years ago, during the 2013 holiday season.

Also, this year, as I was heading home from the station, I noticed some new holiday lights wrapped around various trees on the Annenberg Plaza outside the Mayo Building. Nice! And then, I noticed even more festive lights on the trees in front of the Hilton Building along 2nd St., as

well. Very nice!

And, of course, the festive lights along many of the houses in my neighborhood are also a cool thing to see each night as I make my way from downtown back to northwest Rochester. It really is the most wonderful time of the year, isn't it?
