Undated (KROC AM News) - Driving conditions have been deteriorating across southeast Minnesota, all the way to the Twin Cities and to the Iowa border.

The National Weather Service says 1 - 3 inches could fall by Tuesday evening. Winds will also increase, leading to blowing snow which could make driving conditions worse.

Numerous schools have cancelled athletic and other events for Tuesday evening.

Driving conditions have been described as “greasy” because temperatures rose into the upper 20s and lower 30s earlier in the day, allowing road chemicals to take effect for the first time in days.

There have already been numerous traffic mishaps in the area.
