LEWISTON, Minn. (AP) — An 80-year-old man has survived being trapped for several hours in a corn bin in southeastern Minnesota.

Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand tells KAGE-AM rescuers pulled John Dailey from the Lewiston area farm just after 2 p.m. Thursday.

Dailey was conscious and talking. The sheriff says Dailey's injuries appear to be non-life-threatening. He was taken to a Winona hospital by ambulance.

Brand said a rope was tied around Dailey to keep him from sinking into the corn. He remained conscious during the rescue.

A hole was cut near the bottom of the bin to pump the corn out.
