Eric Church shared a teaser for a new song, "Higher Wire," on his Instagram account on Thursday (Sept. 7.) Readers can press play below to hear a taste of the gritty tune. The track is the newest song to be teased off of Desperate Manthe artist's sixth studio album, which is due out Oct. 5.

"This week’s preview from the upcoming album Desperate Man is 'Higher Wire.' The new album will be available everywhere October 5," Church's post reads. It's the sixth song off the upcoming project that the superstar has shared. A resonant guitar riff backs up Church's signature county/rock/blues sound, alongside lyrics that call out like a southern gospel revival, in the snippet of the song posted by the country star.

"...Appalachia moonshine crazy / bible belt and a sinner's fire / whoa whoa whoa whoa.. on a higher wire," Church sings in the clip. The sound and style of "Higher Wire" falls in line with the anthemic blues vibe consistent with what we've heard from the album thus far.

In addition to "Solid" and "Hippie Radio," the singer shared the album's title track as a single and subsequently also released another track, "Heart Like a Wheel." Church has also given fans a taste of two more of the project's tracks, "Some of It" and "Hangin' Around."

In keeping with his fans-first commitment to music releases, paid fan club members will receive Desperate Man in its entirety automatically when it is released on Oct. 5, 2018.
