Seeing that Minnesota is known as the State of Hockey, it's not surprising that ESPN is producing a documentary about some of our best up and coming hockey stars. Wait, the special is actually about... their hair?

That's right. The notoriously glorious hockey hair some high school players sport here in Minnesota has long been a statewide phenomenon, especially during the state tournament.

A yearly video highlighting all that flow gets thousands of views. (You can check out this year's video HERE.) But now, Minnesota's hockey hair fanatics are set to hit the national stage in a new ESPN E:60 special called, "Minneflowta."

It's hosted by former NHL player and coach, Barry Melrose, who these days works as an hockey commentator for ESPN. Turns out that Melrose was here in Minnesota during this year's state high school tournament, to check out all the action on the ice-- and all the hairstyles, too.

Barry, of course, is known for once having sported his own hockey 'flow', too, so I guess it makes sense that he's honing in on some genuine Minnesota hockey hair. The special is set to air Tuesday on ESPN.
