Hambone Music Festival

The Hambone is a kick-off event for ROCHESTERFEST, and joins the city honoring the celebration with their 31st Anniversary!

The beautiful spacious grounds of the History Center lend themselves perfectly to this 2-Day outdoor festival. All performances will take place under our huge tent, with space for seating underneath as well as outside the tent. The History Center is located on West Circle Drive and Salem Road. Our Artist Village consists of 8 to 10 local artists and opens at 4:00 PM on Friday, along with food & beverage vendors, continuing throughout the day on Saturday.

We are thrilled that the Drum Corps Event is returning to Rochesterfest this year, and in celebration Hambone is offering a Per- cussion Workshop for Beginners on Saturday, 06/12, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Anyone 18 years old and under may attend at no charge. Adults will need to purchase admission to the festival on Saturday. Sign up by sending an email to askme@hambone- musicfestival.com with “PERCUSSION WORKSHOP” in the subject line. (Maximum of 30 participants.) Participants will have the opportunity to play on the main stage with one of our featured bands, The Swamp Kings after the workshop.

This year’s amazing FRIDAY evening line-up begins with:

Twin Cities blues temptress, the lovely LISA WENGER and her incredible band featuring BRUCE MCCABE (keyboardist and songwriter extraordinaire for Jonny Lang and Lamont Cranston). Next up is the talented and soulful LEW KLIMESH BAND from Spillville, IA. They are followed by “blues gypsies” and amazing storytellers from the Twin Cities JIMMI & THE BAND OF SOULS. Currently taking the Twin Cities by storm, CRANKSHAFT & THE GEAR GRINDERS take the Hambone stage next with danceable, original Americana-flavored blues. Wrapping up our Friday night show is Rochester’s very own SENA EHRHARDT BAND. Signed by Blind Pig Record Label in 2011, nominated for numerous blues music awards & 2012 winner – New Artist Debut Release for “Leave The Light On”, and in the last two weeks played two shows with the legendary BB King!

SATURDAY also features a stellar line-up:

in with a number of outstanding regional bands including: HOWARD LUEDTKE & BLUE MAX (Western Wisconsin), THE AVEY BROTHERS (Davenport, IA), THE SWAMP KINGS (Twin Cities), PAPA JOHN KOLSTAD (Twin Cities), and JAMBON CRU (Roches- ter).
