Pine Island, MN (KROC AM News) - A Faribault woman was killed Tuesday in a traffic wreck near Pine Island.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 57 and Goodhue County Rd 11 around 3:30 p.m.

The State Patrol says 15-year-old Hallie White of Faribault was the driver of the minivan the victim was riding in. The Patrol says the teen driver had stopped for the stop sign at the intersection and began crossing Highway 57 when the van was hit broadside by a semi-truck.

Her passenger, 39-year-old Marisa Bocanegra, was killed. White was taken to St. Marys Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, 40-year-old Matthew Weis of Mantorville, was not hurt.
