Eagan, MN (KROC AM News) - A man was fatally injured early Friday morning after crashing his car during a police chase near Eagan.

The Minnesota State Patrol says officers were called out at 1:30 a.m.to check a report of a convenience store robbery in the Twin Cities suburb. Officers began pursuing a vehicle spotted near the scene of the robbery and the driver ended up crashing into a utility pole and tree on Highway 62 near Cedar Avenue.

The preliminary report indicates the driver was a 29 year old man from Indianapolis.
