Cannon Falls, MN  (KROC AM News)  - The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a violent domestic incident involving a father and son in the Cannon Falls area.

The sheriff’s office received a call around 6 p.m. Monday about neighbors who were yelling at each other and shooting a compound bow. While deputies were on their way to check the incident at a home in Stanton Township, another call was made from a person who had fled the residence and reported the compound bow had been fired. The caller also said a person in the residence had been hit by a baseball bat.

Deputies arrived and found an injured man outside the residence. He apparently had been hit several times by a bat.The man - 67-year-old David McNamara - was airlifted to Regions Hospital where he was in stable condition at last report.

He had apparently been attacked by his 35-year-old son Lee McNamara, who also lives at the home located near Lake Byllesby. He was taken into custody but was later hospitalized after suffering an unknown medical condition.

The person who made the second phone call is a relative who was visiting.  He was not hurt.
