The device would help the person get rid of 30% of the calories after eating. Check out how it works, and tell us what you think of it.

The device known as AspireAssist needs to be surgically-placed to the stomach. Then after eating, the person would attach the external tube, and it will drain the contents. According to the FDA it would take approximately 10 minutes for the food to drain through the tube.

As strange as this sounds, apparently it has helped patients lose more than 12 percent of their body weight in a year.

The FDA also said this treatment is only intended for obese patients, not the moderately overweight or people with eating disorders. So if you're thinking how cool it would be to eat whatever you want, sorry it's not for you!

According to the latest numbers with State of Obesity, 22 states have an obesity rate above 30%, 45 states are above 25%, and every state is above 20% (Minnesota is at nearly 28%).
