Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester man has been sentenced to the time he has already spent in jail on charges that he tried to run down another man with his car last May.

36-year-old Jerry Milliken was arrested after an Olmsted County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed him swerving his car at a man walking on a street in Stewartville. The deputy had been watching Milliken because of his knowledge of the man’s criminal history, and after pulling him over, the officer allegedly found some methamphetamine in his vehicle. Milliken also admitted he was trying to scare the pedestrian after he told the deputy that he and the other man were involved in an ongoing dispute over a woman and some other issues.

Milliken pleaded guilty this week to a misdemeanor assault charge through a deal with prosecutors, who agreed to drop a second-degree assault charge and a felony drug count.
