Do you remember when the last 'Pump and Munch' convenience store closed here in Rochester?

As it turns out, it was seven years ago, back in 2009, on this very day, that crews took down the canopy on the very last 'Pump and Munch,' located at 16th Street and South Broadway, here in Rochester.

According to this Post-Bulletin article, Rochester business Kato, Inc. felt the effects of the great recession and decided to close up shop here in the Med City. The story said, "The tough times coupled with high fuel costs burned into the longtime stations’ profits until it did not make sense to keep them open."

While some locations were sold to other businesses (like the Andy's Express Liquor along Country Club Road and 36th Street in northwest Rochester), back in 2009, we didn't know what would replace the 'ol 'Pump and Munch' on South Broadway.

Now, of course, we know that the location is home to an AutoZone store. But here's what it looked like when it all came crashing down...
