The Rochester Salvation Army has received confirmation of the first Red Kettle challenge matching donations for the 2015 campaign. On Friday, Dec. 11, five local
businesses and organizations will match dollars entrusted to Rochester kettles up to $2,500.

Olmsted National Bank, Restovich-Braun & Associates, Calvary Evangelical Free Church, William T. McCoy Post 92 American Legion and the Soldier’s Field Veterans Memorial have all pledged inspirational investments to extend the generosity of kettle donors.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, Edina Realty of Rochester and Elks Lodge #1091 will also match kettle donations up to $5,000 in all Olmsted County locations as part of their commitment to supporting the Rochester Salvation Army.

Then, on Monday, Dec. 14, Bremer Bank will ring at the new Hy-Vee on West Circle Drive while matching kettle dollars up to $1,000 at specially marked locations.
Challenge matches have been part of past campaigns for many years. They are meant to be a fun and inspirational way to engage the public at the omnipresent kettles during the season of Christmas.

Gifts entrusted to the kettles stay local to fund programs and services that help alleviate hunger and homelessness, and help provide acute medical and dental care, caregiver respite, clothing and furniture vouchers, emergency lodging, disaster relief and much more.
