If you're new to the area, the Northwoods League is a summer baseball league for college eligible players from around the country who try and hone their skills with a pretty full schedule of games here in town and all around the midwest.

The season goes from the end of May to the first week of August with only a few days off!  Good preparation for those planning on turning pro.

Many do play professionally and the Northwoods League has several former players playing in the Major Leagues, like Andre Ethier, Curtis Granderson and Max Scherzer.  172 players who played in the league have made it to the "big show"!

This year's Honkers roster will start the season with some area talent including Michael Michalak of Rochester, Ryan Thompson of Byron, Johnathan Fleek of Albert Lea and Jordan Hart of Lyle.

7:05 start time Tuesday night against the Mankato Moondogs  (first 1,000) fans get a magnet schedule, then Thursday they play at home against St. Cloud.
