Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has selected a former Olmsted County prosecutor to fill and upcoming vacancy at the Olmsted County Courthouse.

Lisa Swenson will succeed retiring Olmsted County Judge Debra Jacobson. Swenson, who previously worked as an assistant Olmsted County Attorney, is currently the managing attorney in the Office of the Third Judicial District Public Defender. Her career also includes stints as a prosecutor in Winona County an adjunct professor at Winona State University and as an associate at the Restovich law firm in Rochester.

“Ms. Lisa Swenson has demonstrated a strong commitment to justice throughout her career,” said Governor Dayton. “Her experience in both private practice and public service has prepared Ms. Swenson well to serve as District Court Judge for Minnesota’s Third Judicial District.”

The two other finalists considered by the governor for the position were
Chief Deputy Olmsted County Attorney Eric Woodford and the private attorney Jacob Allen.
