Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A grand opening celebration will take place Thursday for the new Gage East Apartments in northwest Rochester.

The 55-unit supportive housing project features 30 multi-bedroom apartments for homeless families and 25 efficiency units for homeless youth between the ages of 16 and 21-years old. Center City Housing developed the complex after acquiring the mostly vacant building from the Rochester School District.

The grand opening event begins at 11:30 a.m. with tours. The Rochester Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 12:15 that will be followed by a program at 12:30 p.m..
