The border battle between the Packers and the Vikings heats up this week as the Minnesota gets set to host its NFC North rivals. But one group of Green Bay fans has been working to clean up a highway... right here in Minnesota.

Yes, there are lots of rivalries between Minnesota and Wisconsin, with the biggest no doubt being between the Vikings and the Packers. And although there are a number of Green Bay fans residing here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes-- I was surprised how many fellow Packers fans I've encountered since I moved to southeast Minnesota nearly four years ago-- the football fans sporting the green and gold colors are still in the minority.

But that hasn't stopped a group of Green Bay fans from enrolling in Minnesota's Adopt-A-Highway program and sponsoring a stretch of County Road 23 in Dakota County. According to this Boyd Huppert KARE-11 story, the group is lead by Dave Antonneau.

"Twice a year, spring and fall, Dave and a small group of Packers cohorts grab trash bags and clean the ditches along a two-mile stretch of road near Northfield's city limits. 'I did have a Vikings fan stop and throw trash at me so I could pick it up,' laughs Lynn Ziegler, who also counts herself among the Packers pickers. The group was first organized by a Packer backer who's since moved back across the border," the story says.

See why they still do it-- and the response they're getting from Vikings fans:
