Hayfield Haydays 2014

For the past four years I've had the opportunity to be a guest judge for the Miss Haydays Pageant.  It's one of my favorite events of the year.  I team up with Betsy Singer of KAAL and a Hayfield native to interview soon-to-be senior girls.  They do a community service project, some team exercises, and fill out a questionarre about themselves.  It's so awesome to be a part of an event that helps young ladies grow and prepare for the future.  We had a great group this year.

Here's a throwback picture since it's TBT!!!  One of the first years I got to sit aside my idol - Ms Betsy Singer!!  This picture has a fun story behind it too.  When I was in high school, we visited KTTC and watched Betsy report the news live.  When she was all finished up, she walked out from behind the desk, completely dolled up from waist up.  No lie, she was wearing pajama pants AND slippers.  That was the day I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with my life - broadcasting!  FYI, THESE are the slippers she was wearing.  She gave them to me!
