Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The weather in Rochester Wednesday was steamy, but the real heat isn’t forecast to arrive until Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Rochester area and southeastern Minnesota beginning at noon Thursday and running through 7 PM Friday. The actual air temperatures are predicted to climb into the 90s and high humidity is predicted to push the heat index readings well into the triple digits.

The dangerous heat arrived Wednesday afternoon across most of the rest of the state. Red Wing, Owatonna, Albert Lea, and the Twin Cities reported heat indices of 100 or higher.
