Hey, Who Put That Starbucks Cup There?

Have you ever happened across something kind of odd and wondered just how it got there?

I happened to notice this fine Starbucks coffee cup, still half full, just minding its own business, sitting on this concrete barrier in the Quick Country 96.5 parking lot here in downtown Rochester last Sunday.

I was unloading some gear after having been at the JDRF One Walk at Soldiers Field Park, and happened to see the cup as I parked the station car. Curiously, I picked it up and started to wonder how it got there-- and who'd leave a half-full cup of expensive Starbucks coffee in our parking lot.

The closest Starbucks location to our studios is most likely the Starbucks located in the street level of the Kahler Grand Hotel, across from the Mayo Clinic Gonda Building along 2nd Avenue, about 3 blocks away.

However, it was during this somewhat mindless rumination about where the cup came from and how it got to our parking lot, when it hit me: Why, it was ME who had set that Starbucks cup there! And, it had stayed right there for well over a week!

As it turns out, I had bought it when I was leaving Scheel's Fish Fest after I returned from a live broadcast I did on Saturday, May 7th. I must have set it down when I was unloading some gear and totally forgot it was there.

I'm surprised-- and glad-- that it didn't blow away, or tip over and spill and create more litter for someone else to clean up. I picked it up and tossed it out-- and made a mental note to not be so absent minded!
