Horrible Hate Note Left on Iowa Man’s Car

There have been multiple reports in the media of a rise in hate-related incidents and crimes since Donald Trump won the presidential election in early November. Some of these incidents have even happened in, and near, Rochester.

At Maple Grove High School in the Twin Cities, racist graffiti was written in one of the school bathrooms the day after the presidential election. The students at the high school chose to overcome the racist graffiti in a positive way.

And before the election, right here in Rochester, there was an incident over the summer where racist graffiti was scrawled on a bike path near Quarry Hill.

Now, word comes of an incident that took place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Wednesday (November 22). A man and his co-worker, whom he described as "absolutely fabulous and also gay," went out to grab lunch on their lunch break. When they returned to their car from eating, they found this note stuck to the car's windshield.

I don't know about you, but to me this is absolutely unacceptable and wrong! There is no place for this in America, no matter who has been elected as our president.

Let's continue to fight this kind of hate with love and kindness. This holiday season, let's focus on "peace on Earth and goodwill to all!"
