With the 4th of July just around the corner, many people will be heading up to the cabin, probably with some friends and family, and hopping on the boat for some much needed time relaxing on the water!

But how many people are you really allowed to have on your boat?

On some boats, there's a plaque onboard that will tell you a weight and person limit. For example, it could say there's an 11 person limit but a 1,500 lb. limit as well. Which one is it?!

Kare 11 did some investigating and spoke with the Hennepin County Sherrif's Water Patrol and they said the weight limit is for sure the most important but they do enforce both limits.

Moral of the story, you can't host 11 sumo wrestlers on your boat because you'll probably go over the weight limit but you also can't host 18 toddlers because that's over the person limit.
