When it comes to life here in southeast Minnesota, there are just a few things I don't get. For instance, those new chip card readers.

There are a lot of conveniences that technology has given us, and many ways increasing levels of technology have made our lives safer, too. Which, if I recall correctly, is the thinking behind those new chip card readers we're all using.

Sometimes we're using them. Some stores have made the switch, while others still use the old 'swipe' method. This only applies, however, if you use your debit or credit cards a lot -- like I do.

Our credit union recently switched us over to the chip cards, and despite my best attempts to get with the program, so to speak, there are still a few things I don't get.

Does this sound familiar to you, too?
