That warm stretch of weather we had back in December might have been helpful in keeping your heating bill in check, but it wasn't too helpful to the creators of the Ice Castles. But the cool winter spectacle in Eden Prairie is in full swing now, having opened last weekend.

And, if you're looking for something fun to do that can only be enjoyed during our Minnesota winter, this might be an activity to check out. We wanted to take in the Ice Castles last year, but never got around to going. We're not going to miss it this year, though, on plan on heading up to Eden Prairie either this weekend or next. Weather permitting, the Ice Castles are slated to run through March again this year.

If you go, organizers say it's best to order your tickets before you go from their website, icecastles.com. And, if you want to win some free tickets, keep listening to Quick Country 96.5 for your chance to snag a pair on us!

And here's a WCCO-TV story from last week that shows the process involved in constructing this year's Ice Castles...
