The state of Minnesota is a pretty big place, encompassing almost 87,000 square miles. Which makes it bigger than several other sovereign countries in the world. But just where would we rank, worldwide?

According to an interesting graphic from the gang over at selfstorage.com, they looked at it like this. Say Minnesota was a storage container that was 86,935 square miles wide (That's the exact size of our state). Which other countries could you fit inside? As it turns out, if you rank them all by size, Minnesota would come in as the 83rd largest country.

That's not too bad, especially since there are roughly 200 countries in existence. Which means, of course, that we're larger than 118 other countries out there. Take a look at which countries that are smaller than our state:
