If You Have a Dog, You Should Read the Results of This Mayo Clinic Study
If you’re like me, you’re totally guilty of this, BUT you may want to change your ways after reading this study.
Do you let your pooch sleep in bed with you? Before I got married, I couldn’t sleep without my Khuno. Now we have two pups, and letting them sleep in our queen size bed with us is entirely too crowded. Not to mention, these two are super needy and jealous. Both want to be right next to you ALL NIGHT! We finally got them their own beds and laid them next to my side. Was that the right move? According to Mayo, yes!
The study, “The Effect of Dogs on Human Sleep in the Home Sleep Environment,” evaluated the sleep of 40 healthy adults without sleep disorders and their dogs over 5 months. Participant and their dogs wore activity trackers to track their sleeping habits for 7 nights.
According to the study, allowing the fur babies a spot in your bedroom will give you the best quality sleep and a sense of security – Next to your bed, not in your bed.
