Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Plans are in the works for a new entertainment complex in Rochester that will be comparable to the Bowlocity business along North Broadway.

In fact, the owner of that business is behind the new endeavor.

The site that is being looked at is north of 19th St NW, about half a mile west of West Circle Dr and near Ashland Drive.

The city Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to hold a hearing on the project this week. Planning staff is recommending approval of the request for substantial land alteration to the site. Residents who attended a recent neighborhood meeting on the project were told the site will “developed as a family entertainment center on the scale with Bowlocity. “

The Bowlocity owner says plans and costs are still being finalized and construction won't begin until next year at the earliest. He says the project will include bowling lanes and more offerings than the Bowlocity site.

The commission is also scheduled to hold a public hearing on plans for yet another apartment complex.

The proposal from Joseph Development has been named “Rocky Creek Heights" and would consist of two 60 unit apartment buildings and single-family dwellings. The property is located on the east side of North Broadway, south of Rocky Creek Drive and west of Northern Valley Drive.

The commission is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m.Wednesday at City Hall.
