Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman has been sentenced to four months in jail and seven years on probation for attacking a former boyfriend.

34-year-old Jenny Harris earlier pleaded guilty to a second-degree assault charge stemming from an incident last October. She was arrested after a man, who broke up with her a couple years earlier, returned home from work and was assaulted outside his garage by a person wearing a mask and swinging an aluminum baseball bat.

The man was eventually able to gain the upper hand and removed the attackers mask, which was when he discovered it was his former girlfriend.

Police later discovered she was also carrying a knife, but told officers that she “only wanted to rough him up a bit,” and did not intend to use it.

In addition to the jail time, Harris was also given a stayed 33-month prison sentence and was ordered to pay just over $800 in restitution.
