To many, Joe Diffie is a country music legend. In a career spanning more than 25 years, Diffie has had a host of hits, including such favorites as “Third Rock from the Sun,” “Pick-up Man,” and “John Deere Green.” With such a prolific country music pedigree, probably the last thing you would expect is to hear this 50-something-year-old country crooner bust a rhyme!

That’s just what he did, though, during his performance at this year's Olmsted County Fair in Rochester, Minnesota. Here’s why…

Last year, Diffie collaborated with D. Thrash (Derek Thrasher) of The Jawga Boyz on a single called “Girl Ridin’ Shotgun,” where he enlisted D. Thrash's rapping skills in the song. At Friday night’s concert, Diffie performed the song. Since D. Thrash isn’t along on tour with him, he performed the rap part of the song himself.

It was a beautiful night for a concert and Diffie put on a great show out at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds. If you missed it, you definitely missed out. Oh, and he wasn't half bad with the rap, either! Check out the video footage and see for yourself!

And if you want to compare his performance to the official video for the song, here's that:
